Style is where NEW Hotel truly shines. Acquired in 2011 by the YES Hotel group – pioneers of the design hotel concept in Greece – the hotel masterfully bridges the gap between old and new by repurposing many fixtures, fittings, and furnishings from its previous incarnation as the 1960s Olympic Palace Hotel. The result is a fabulous cornucopia of quirkiness embraced by the notorious Campana Brothers: chairs covered in undulating velvet, stunning mid-century modern design pieces, and statement walls adorned with reclaimed table legs and drawer facades, reminiscent of Brazil's favelas. This eclectic style is further enhanced by a scattering of pop art, including pieces by Jeff Koons, an interactive 1970s telephone booth, and a flashing ‘APPLAUSE’ sign.
